I have worked with Phil Mead at TPW Print for many years and jumped at the chance to help provide them with a new content managed website that was clean, easy to navigate and would give him the opportunity to show-case some of the great print and finishing work they supply their clients. I designed and built their site www.tpwprint.co.uk and helped upload the first batch of work.

The site includes an image slide show on the home page, a contact form, categories for the uploaded work and a search function. It’s always difficult to balance fulfilling all your current client’s needs with promoting your business to new ones, however the site will allow TPW to easily and quickly upload new work, and highlights of their back catalogue.

JoJo’s Meze, Meat & Fish Restaurant New Website

After seven years, and over 105,000 visits I felt it was time to re-design the original JoJo’s Restaurant website. There were two reasons for this, firstly I wanted to add a content management system to make it easier to update. And secondly JoJo’s had applied to the Transmanche Enterprise Network (TEN) Project run by Canterbury Council to have some parts of the site translated into French and Dutch so the new design needed to be able to handle more than one language.

The first JoJo’s website received a lot of praise for its simplicity and clarity so I endeavoured to keep the site extremely straightforward to use whilst making it stylish to look at and, of course, retaining the slightly quirky text style – these are all qualities of the actual restaurant and I felt it was important these were reflected in the new site. The new website went live in early October at www.jojosrestaurant.co.uk and I guess it must have been successful as I have had to twice increase the bandwidth limit since then!

Appreciation must also go to Virginie for the French translation and Kent Union Jobshop for organising the Dutch; thanks to Annie at Interactrice for telling JoJo’s about the TEN Project and Natalia at the Local Economy Team of Canterbury Council for facilitating.

iPaintPro Logo Website and Social Media

Ann King and Lee Goward set-up a company called iKooky whose mission is to create innovative products that effectively and stylishly solve everyday problems. iPaintPro, their first product, is a personal decorating assistant. They required a website that allows potential retailers and business partners to see all the benefits of the product, how it is constructed, read about the backstory, image galleries, new updates and contact details.

I designed and built them www.ipaintpro.co.uk, a site that fulfilled all their requirements and which they can update themselves. I also helped with the logo design, edited and branded videos as well as creating and branding Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages. I also created a simple holding page for their company at www.ikooky.co.uk.

Fish on BBC’s Britain’s Next Big Thing

Watching Britain’s Next Big Thing on BBC 2 it massaged my ego to see the identity and packaging work I did for the Fish range of hair care and styling products for men being briefly featured in a panning shot. Fish was used to illustrate the point that attractive and distinctive packaging is essential to a brand’s success in the high street.

Kent and Essex IFCA Website

Following on from the work I did with Comscientia on the Sussex IFCA website, the design has now been rolled out to the Kent and Essex Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority site www.kentandessex-ifca.gov.uk.

GKCS PTA Flyer and Ticket Design

A work colleague from King of Shaves, Sam Danzine, is a member of the Great Kingshill Combined School (GKCS) PTA and they wanted a promotional double sided A4 flyer and tickets designing for their annual themed ‘Best of British Ball‘. Obviously they had a tight budget, so I designed and artworked the flyer and ticket using royalty-free stock imagery with the aim of making it strong, colourful and easy to read. I also handled the printing on behalf of the GKCS PTA.

White Mountain Games Packaging Design

In addition to re-purposing existing artworks for White Mountain Games, they also needed new packaging designing for several compilations they were releasing. Again this involved downloading existing game artworks and then creating new layouts featuring pack shots of the individual games along with new backgrounds and designing logos for the titles in the spirit of the original game covers. I also designed mono CD labels for each compilation.

Once approved I artworked each pack and uploaded press ready CMYK PDFs to their FTP site. I also produced thumbnail images of the covers for the White Mountain online store and made up slide-show images for the home page.

Sussex IFCA Website

I was retained by Comscientia to help with the new Sussex Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority website www.sussex-ifca.gov.uk. The site was being built using Joomla! CMS and I amended the chosen template’s CSS to give a coherent look and feel to the site whilst keeping within the corporate colour palette. From the (severely limited!) photography supplied I also created six illustrative montages for the home page animated slide show.

Comscientia Identity and Website

Comscientia required a logo that helped get across the concept of sharing knowledge in a community. Once we had agreed on the identiry I then helped design the look and feel of their website www.comscientia.com by updating the chosen Joomla! CMS template’s CSS, providing direction on colour, fonts etc, and designing illustrations for the welcome slideshow. I even supplied a simple but strong branded PowerPoint template for their presentations.

Licensed 4U Trade Advertisements

Licensed 4U needed some full page advertisements designing and artworking for the UK industry trade ‘bible’, MCV. I produced some initial concepts and headline suggestions and once these had been agreed, using imagery supplied, I created and artworked the full colour adverts and supplied them to the publication as press ready CMYK PDF files.
